The Jim Wolf Technology Dual POP for the 370Z consists of two large cone type open air filter elements which have a surface area many times larger than the factory panel filters. The filters clamp to cast aluminum velocity stacks to help assure a non turbulent air flow. The velocity stacks bolt to polished aluminum sampling tubes with a venturi section that contains the sensing element for the mass air flow meters. The size and shape of the venturis are critical for proper operation of the engines ECU as the ratio of sensor signal to mass air flow has to remain in the same proportion as stock to avoid CES lights and bad driveabilty. The 370Z Dual POP also has heat shields to reduce the amount of power sucking heat wash that the engine inhales. The heat shields are made of anodized aluminum and have rubber seals to help keep the hot air out.  Installation of the shields requires that two small holes be drilled though the plastic core support, a simple task.

Most importantly the JWT Dual POP is smog legal and carries a CARB EO.  JWT provides an official CARB EO sticker which should allow you to sale right though a smog inspection with no hassles or get a police officer off your case if you are ever forced to pop your hood if you get pulled over.

The crew at Technosqaure made quick work of the Dual POP installation

Installing the heat shields was easy.  Twoholes had to be drilled in the plastic core support but they were small and not very noticeable

The crew at Technosquare quickly installed the JWT Dual POP and we were ready to dyno. The car was driven on the dyno for a few miles at part throttle to allow the ECU to self learn any possible changes to air flow and then full power pulls were started.  The results were inconclusive. We were not able to show an increase in power. The car did detonate worse during the settling period on the dyno and we suspected that the ECU was pulling timing and making the car run inconsistently. We suspected that lugging the engine at wide open throttle at such a low rpm was causing strange things to happen.

If power was not increased in this test, extra points should be given to the spine tingling induction wail of the Dual POP which sounded like sweet music. Some might want to buy this intake just for how it sounds!

Nice job Mike. Too bad it didn't make more power, but if the 370's stock intake is as efficient as you said, that's not bad. I am waiting to see what a good open exhaust will do on this thing.
